Your privacy is extremely important to us. We understand that users of our site may be communicating medical interests or health information about themselves or others that they do not want revealed to others. The Avicena Group does not disclose, rent, or sell and personal or medical information about site users to any third party, including government agencies and health insurers of any kind. Information Collection and Use

The Avicena Group is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is specifically disclosed in this statement. We collect information from our users at several different places on our website, in the interest of understanding who our users are and how to serve them better.

Orders from Our On-Line Store

We request information from the user on our order form. Here a user must provide contact information (like name and shipping address) and financial information (like credit card number, expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes and to fulfill customer's orders. If we can not process an order, this contact information is used to get in touch with the user.

Cookies

A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's hard drive containing information about the user. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site. Once the user closes their browser, the cookie simply terminates. Cookies also enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our site. When you see a personalized greeting on the site, this is enabled by the cookie stored in your hard drive.

Log Files

We use Internet Protocol (IP) addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track user's movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. As an example, we may disclose to partners the total number of users of our site in a given time period, or the general nature of the questions that are emailed to us. Sharing

We may share aggregated demographic information with our partners, such as national associations. This is not linked to any personal information that can identify any individual person. We use an outside shipping company to ship orders, and a credit card processing company to bill users for goods and services. These companies do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.

We take every precaution to protect our users' information. When users submit sensitive information via the website, this information is protected both online and off-line.
When our registration/order form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number) that information is encrypted. While on a secure page, such as our order form, the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to unlocked, or open, when you are just 'surfing'. Bulletin Boards and Chat Rooms

Please remember that any information, including personal and medical information, that you post in a public forum such as a bulletin board or chat room is not subject to this Privacy Policy and will be seen by third parties not related to The Avicena Group and may be used by them to send you unsolicited messages.

Special Offers and Information

We plan to send information via email about special offers and news to customers and others interested in The Avicena Group and its products. Out of respect for the privacy of our users we will present the option to not receive these types of communications. For example, our order form has an 'opt-out' function so persons who buy a product from us, but don't want to be on our mailing list, can keep their email address off our lists.

Notification of Changes

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on our Homepage in the Your Privacy section so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify users by way of an email. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.
